Resolving Windows 7 Issues:
"Read Only" and File Permission

Overview

If you were prevented from saving ProAPOD because the program is said to be "Read Only" or that you don't have the permission, the issue concerns measures in the Windows 7 operating system that require you to manually grant yourself permission to access ProAPOD's file. This only needs to be done one time.


Step One

In Windows Explorer locate and right-click the ProAPOD folder (shown below) then select Properties.

Step Two

In the Properties dialogue (shown below) select the Security tab then under "Group or user names" click the user you are granting permission then click Edit.

Step Three

Under "Permissions for Users" click Full control then Apply then Ok.

Result: ProAPOD will no longer be "Read Only" and you can properly save your files. If not, repeat these steps for each other group of names.
